This is the second time I've heard of this city.
The first was in 2018 when I was commissioned to draw the cityscape in my own style. Having never heard of it before, I spent time researching the buildings and history of the town, and found out that it is a beautifully rich place, steeped in history that goes back to the times of the Old Testament (c. 4000 BC), and that the layers upon layers of cultures and empires have built a rich city tapestry which is unique in the world.
The second time I heard of Gaziantep was this week.
I am so sad to hear and see the news of the devastating effect which the earthquake has had in Gaziantep and other affected towns and cities in Turkey and Syria.
Reports now suggest that more than 21,000 have been killed, and many thousands more injured.
The beautiful, cultured, historical city of Gaziantep has been changed forever and its buildings and inhabitants may never be the same again.

I have made this image available for digital download from my website for £5.00, and every penny of purchases will be donated to the Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal through the British Red Cross.
Please buy as many copies as you like to increase your donation.
Alternatively please donate to the Red Cross directly at

My name is Robert Kann, but please call me Bob. I am a fully qualified architect, and an enthusiastic illustrator. I live and work in the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath; the city I've called home for the past 7 years, and the source of inspiration for a lot of my work.

I started Pitch26 in September 2013 in order to pursue a life of personal and creative freedom; I take immense pleasure in meeting interesting and varied people, and it is an honour that some of you buy into my style, and allow my creations to grace your walls and mantelpieces.
